An Intimate Wedding Amidst a Global Pandemic - Anna + Dojie | Michelle Chang Photography
It's been three months since I photographed a wedding; this was a first since shelter in place started. Anna and Dojie are like most of my 2020 couples; they were going to postpone the wedding celebration due to COVID-19. After some consideration, they decided to still celebrate with an intimate wedding in the comfort of their lovely backyard, and I’m so happy to still be a part of it.
The celebration was on a breezy afternoon at the end of May. Anna loves to DIY, and you can tell how good she is by all the decoration she did, from floral to reception table to her hair and makeup. The event started with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony, where Anna and Dojie paid their respects and showed their gratitude towards their moms. They both looked great in the traditional outfits. I especially liked Anna's elegant updo hairstyle and how she accessorized with a gold hairpiece, just the perfect match for her cheongsam.
The event followed by an intimate ceremony in the comfort of their backyard with a total of eight guests. Without too much detail planned, Anna and Dojie had their first look down the aisle, which they felt was right for the moment.
The highlight of the day would have to be when some of family and friends showed up after the ceremony to congratulate them, at a safe social distance and with masks on, of course. It was bittersweet when so many of them showed up at the front door; I hope Anna and Dojie gets to hug each of them very soon!
Congratulations, Anna + Dojie!
